About Us
The Jackson County Memorial Library has a library vision
statement, library mission statement, and library goals. They are as
follows:
Library Vision Statement
Our vision is bringing people and information together.
Library Mission Statement
The mission of the Jackson County Memorial Library is to link
the community to a world of knowledge in a variety of formats to educate,
inspire, and entertain, with excellent customer service in a welcoming
environment that promotes lifelong learning.
Library Goals
The following goals are the priorities to be accomplished
over the course of the next five years which address key strategic issues and
support our vision and mission. They are not intended to address all
the issues facing the library, rather, they are designed to focus the
efforts of the library staff and governing body in providing materials and
programs that meet the needs of the Jackson County community and maintain an
excellence in service. These goals will be used by the Director to
prepare annual operating plans which will implement the long range plan.
The goals
and objectives of the Jackson County Memorial Library consist of service and
management goals listed below:
Service:
GOAL ONE
Provide programs and services that support the library's service responses,
vision, and mission and that augment the collection.
GOAL TWO
Provide access to a wealth of current and popular materials that stimulate
the thinking, satisfy the curiosity, expand knowledge of contemporary
culture and society, and make leisure time more productive and enjoyable.
GOAL THREE
Continue a technology plan that consistently maintains current levels of
technology and implements future technology as relevant.
Management:
GOAL ONE
Develop and maintain a diverse and dynamic collection to further the
library's service responses, vision, and mission, which reflect current
standards and the library's collection development policy.
GOAL TWO
Provide a cohesive, qualified and highly motivated staff to accomplish the
service goals of the library, which will advance the library's vision and
mission statements thus recognizing staff as an invaluable resource.
